CABO LENNY IN CANADA

LENNY
Hi there -

I just wanted to reach out and say that we are SO happy with Lenny - he’s such a wonderful, sweet, smart dog. He’s settling in very nicely to life in Canada and has already had lots of adventures including playdates on the beach, hikes and playing in snow on the mountain!

I also wanted to inquire as to payment for Lenny as I haven’t received any instruction re. payment for him.. Please let me know!

Thanks very much :)

Nicole

CABO SOYLA_LUNASOYLA - now LUNA

Luna is adjusting well to her new life and is such a sweet dog!
She's very eager to please and loves to play and get attention.

Thank you for her!
Such a perfect addition to my family.
CABO LUCYWell, Lucy made it home, she’s adapting VERY well, slept up on the bed right beside my shoulder all night, and didn’t even BUDGE when Darby also got up on the bed half way through the night, which is what he usually does . She LOVES the back yard, especially this morning when it had some snow!!  Ran around in circles happily while I stood there freezing!!  LOLOL   I have decided to change her name as Darby came running when I called her, so her name is now Lola, and after two treats connected to that name, she comes with no problem!  I put a nice furry mat I bought her right beside me here in my office and she claimed it immediately and is curled up beside me right now!  I attached a picture for you!   I have NO doubt I made the right choice for me and Darby.  When inside the house, Darby could care less, and when outside, he just follows her around.  After telling him a stern “No” whenever he basically lifted her butt right off the ground to sniff her (which she was tolerating), he has stopped altogether and just follows her now!  I will keep you updated on her progress, but it would appear that “adjusting” is going to be a cakewalk for her at least!   Thanks again! Leigh Thompson
CABO NINANIÑA
Just wanted to update you on Nina. She is a very smart and happy little girl. Little Nina is so happy all her matted fur is gone! She does however have a skin infection and Ehrlichia which she is on antibiotics for, for the next month. I'm so happy we are giving her a second chance at life. She is getting lots of love and snuggles here!

KIKI & TINY

CABO DOGS IN THE SNOW

Hola! Thought you might get a chuckle out of these former Cabo
pooches. They were digging in the snow for half an hour and finally
caught the mouse they were after which is hanging out of Lola's mouth.

BRANDI - Rescued from Cabo 6.5 Years ago...

This is Brandi (Bella) she came from Cabo
6 1/2 years ago.
BRANDI is now a certified therapy dog in Kalamazoo.
The man in the photo is the husband of one of our Board members, who suffered a stroke about a month ago and is still recuperating in a local hospital.

It's a very small world indeed.  Quite a rise from the streets of Cabo, I would say.

CHUY - This Cabo 'Choyero' is now a happy farm dog!
CHUY CABO to Walla Walla

Living in Walla-Walla Washington
Looks like a really happy farmer!

CABO SUZY

SUSI - an East Coast Girl Now...

Susi was picked up this afternoon at Newark Airport.  She made it safely there.  She slept for most of the 2 hour drive home.  She was greeted by our 9 cats who aren’t sure what to do, however she has enjoyed 2 walks this evening and is now asleep.  Thanks for all of your assistance.

CABO GUICHO

GUICHO
Little Guicho was tossed away in the trash in Cabo. He was a mess when he arrived with us at the LCHS Center. His loving nature and stregnth of character allowed him to survive and flourish into the little cutie that he is today.
Thanks to CABODOGZ rescue, he has been adopted into his new forever family who loves him - he is now living the life of luxury!

CaboDogz writes:
"His name is Calvin now and he lives in luxury...
They loooove him n treasure this "Mexican throw away poodle" :))
Xox"

Her new mom writes:
"Sadie is a love. She sleeps on her bed every night but spends most days with my dogs and me, when I'm home. Here she is with Chloe. She must have lived in a home as she know to go outside to do her business, and uses the dog door. She is great on a leash and loves to go on walks. We're feeding her puppy food to fatten her up and chicken.‎
... Jennifer Chloe, Lulu, Bella and Sadie too! "

CABO Rescue Bruno

BRUNO

After knee surgery and many months of recovery at the LCHS Adoption Center, Bruno has a loving home. He still needs physical therapy and we are betting that this little charmer will make a full-recovery.

CABO HAPPY TAILS

CUMO in his new Happy Home! His new family drove 5 hours to meet he and his escorts at SEATAC. They write:
..."Yes! I think he is happy...wagging his tail & smiling! We are all exhausted...it was a long day and I kept stopping in case he needed to [do his business] but he seems to understand me. We met Charmie ( our other dog) at the school..they sniffed and kissed and she is just running circles around him! Pictures attached. "
LCHS is grateful for such a loving home for Cumo - he will be so happy, and having a sister is an added bonus!

Hola. i thought about lucas every day since i left cabo. On june 2 the news did not sound good for getting him here. i sort of gave up hope, and left it in Gods hands. Then when you phoned again my heart lept with joy, but oh my gosh how complicated. it was very stressful ford myself and frank as i am sure it was for you and all of your connections as well. With all your help and everyone at the Los Cabos Humane Society and Lori and Judith as well.
CABO LUCAS SHEPARD

I would like to thank you all for making this possible and bringing joy to my heart and giving a dog a good home as you can see in the pictures. He is running free and wild with my dog ( coco ) and franks dog ( molly ). This was the 4th day he was here.

KAREN, MATTIE & PUMBA
CABO KAREN STEWART AND KIDS
Our little macotas, Toy Chihuahua "Mattie" (formerly Abby) and older Tabby Cat "Pumba" couldn't fit in more perfectly with us and also each other! They came home together and started off as equals in a new environment.

They remind us of siblings who play together, sleep together and even squabble occasionally - always gently. Their favorite game (we call "Hallway Ambush") has us in stitches - one or the other hide around the corner at the end of the hall and take turns jumping out to startle the unsuspecting hall walker!

We are so grateful to have such loving and affectionate little buddies - thank you LCHS! Karen Stewart

MAITEA

MAITEA

Hola, We had a long day on Tuesday as we missed our connecting flight but both us and the Maitea are glad to be home.

She is fitting right in but our cat is not too impressed - but Maitea is is amazing around her.

Thanks for all your help on arranging the adoption.

LAZLO
CABO LAZLOHappy at home with his new family. He must be in heaven - looks like he is getting spoiled right from the start! Thank you for Adopting this sweet older Dog.
Older dogs are so wonderful to adopt. They typically are very calm and already know how to behave well in a home environment. Via sad circumstances they end up in shelters and are confused and sad. We at LCHS are very grateful to people who have a heart for an older dog to adopt them and to give them the love they deserve for the remainder of their lives.
LAZLO at HOME

LCHS ALUMNI - Judith Ubaldi, a Board Member of The Los Cabos Humane Society for 10 years, remenises about the Happy Tails in her life:
In August of 1997 the Los Cabos Humane Society shelter was under construction. So great was the need for an animal shelter that
even though there was only a wall around the property and no infrastructure or staff to support animals, dogs were dropped off daily. Working as a volunteer to help care for the dogs I noticed a very small terrier mix puppy that was not getting enough to eat. I brought her home knowing she would not survive without special care. Molly thrived and easily worked her way into our hearts. We had the pleasure of her company for 12 enjoyable years.
JUDITH UBALDI

Archie, our orange tabby cat was surrendered to Dr. Tapia’s office in February 1999. Only 2 months old, he had too many health problems to go to the shelter. Along with an armload of medicines, he came home with me for a week or so of rehab time. Archie and my husband Larry developed a friendship right away. Archie has highly developed conversational skills that make us laugh every day.

In May of 2007 while visiting the shelter I noticed an adult, skinny yellow lab look-a-like that never greeted people or played but when approached was a sweet, friendly dog. Thinking she may need advanced health screening, I gave her a ride to the vet. The test results showed nothing wrong to explain her lethargic behavior. I decided to give her a few days of observance at home. Within minutes of entering our property, the lethargic dog, called Niki became a lively, joyful dog. It was obvious when she and Molly settled together on Molly’s bed after playing that she had found a family and her forever home.

VANILLA
"Love, love, love him. Vanilla St. George is his name. 'Nilla for short!!!!!!! We couldn't ask for anything more. My husband is just beside himself on how sweet and cute he is. WE THANK LCHS soooo very much! Keep us updated on his shots and when he will need to be neutered. You guys rock! Have a wonderful day! xoxo, St George Familia"

CABO TEXAS
When TEXAS first came into the LCHS Center, as an abandoned baby he was barely able to eat on his own. We were not sure if he would make it. Well - he is a strong little guy and, after a few weeks, he was integrated into the healthy kitten room.
Texas was the tiniest little guy in the Kitten Salon when Debbie came to the LCHS Adoption Center to play with the kittens and cats. Well, as a true Texan, Debbie fell in love with the kitten named 'Texas'! They instanlty hit it off.

Debbie writes of her first night at home with Texas and her other adult Siamese cat:
"Overall, we had a great night! A little hissing (with the tail wagging of course), but today they [Texas & her Siamese] are nose to nose and becoming fast friends.
He is such a little lover…..the majority of today he's sat on my
chest as I work. Of course he will have to outgrow this, but it's funny. I've attached a picture just for your giggle of the day!!!"

...As we can see, Texas is quite comfy with his new mom and brother.
Thanks for adopting and we wish you many years of happiness!
