"Your operation is fantastic.  So clean, so caring, so amazing.  We love our dog very much.  She is a delight and a beauty.  She has a great life here with us.  Thanks for being there and helping so many unwanted animals.  Your improvements to their lives are tremendous and we will send anyone looking for a pet to your Society.  Also, we were very impressed with the awesome people who come walk the dogs.  Thank you to them and yourselves.
Muchas Gracias, Marly & Dustin Ianson, Cabo Pulmo, B.C.S.  MEX "CABO PULMO

CABO GARU
GARU

This is GARU in his new Happy Home with his new Best friend!
Some people will remember Garu as the mascot at our last
annual Paws & Claws Gold Tournament. He was a crowd favorite.

GARU's forever home ends up being in Canada and he obviously could not
be more content with it!

Lucky Kitty, RUTH and Precious Pupp, KENIA get forever homes this first week of MAY.
Both of these cuties are loving and affectionate and we are so happy that they will be loved and happy now! CABO KENIA RUTH
CHARLEY
CABO CHARLEYDear Friends/Amigos Trish and I adopted Charly in February 2013. We are seasonal residents of Pescadero BCS. In Pescadero Charly loved his walks on the beach and getting to know the other neighborhood dogs.
He did very well on our drive back to the US. Now that we have arrived to our rural Missouri home, he is in love! He looks into my eyes everyday and seems to be thanking me for adopting him. He seems to be saying that he wants to be the best dog I've ever had and If I just spoke a little more Spanish he would do whatever I asked.:)
He will soon visit our local Vet to get his Advantage and Heartworm medicine. Thanks to everyone there for all your work in rescuing all the dogs and cats thet need you.  Don Tutko

ANOTHER MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN!

You can see that these boys are going to have a wonderful time together... We are always so happy when our doggies get such good homes here in Cabo!
CABO GeorgiaWe picked up GEORGIA last Sat. and have been having a blast with her. Sweet dog. She is smart and has learned quickly as we are training her according to the Dog Whisperer. Read 2 books on the plane from Cesar Millan. Her favorite, and ours too, is to walk to the beach and one of us sits about 100' from the other and she runs as fast as she can from one to the other. She's a lot of fun. Everything was ready when we came to the HS to pick her up. Paperwork and she was clean and nails trimmed. You have quite a dedicated group of folks helping and caring. Hugs to you and thanks again for your help in caring for GEORGIA.

AUSSIE

He is doing very very good.-it has been a worthy journey working with him
He goes to play-care in Seattle every Wednesdays, right down the street from my work, 8+ hours of positive supervised puppy time with all kinds of dogs and handled by many different women.
He is less afraid of strangers, will now walk up to meet to check them out, instead of retreating and growling - even to men Yet- still somewhat CAT aggressive, but they can both be in the same room and tolerant. We work on it all the time. Spends every weekend with us at our cabin in the woods and plays fetch, curls up by the fire and rests when he is tired, eats well, no health issues- other than a bit of sensitive skin it seemsCABO AUSSIE

Had his first doggie back pack trip and did a great job on and off leash on the trail. His partner ( our old dog Lela) went down earlier this summer, at 14 + and blind,- so he adjusted to being an only dog, we'll plan to adopt foster when we find the right one, and the time to work with them both. He is a true and true beta male, backs down, we more alpha dogs advance.

He loves to chew his bones, is not aggressive to me when I try to take them away, will growl slightly if another dog gets to close, so when that happens, sometimes we let him keep the bone, sometimes we take it away from him and sometimes we give the other dog a bone so the both have one, and other times we take his bone and give it to the other dog, so he is learning that it is best to just share..

He did have a miss hap last winter when we had guests at our ski cabin, after dinner - kid laid head down on chair next to where they were sitting, Aussie was under table and growled, but kid moved forward in the dark rather than back up and bit a kid in the face, ( clean clip on the nose) it was both the kids fault and ours. That was an $ lesson. NOT GOOD though... but now I watch him, he is not allowed under table at dinner, and if acting moody when guests are around, he gladly is sent to his ( our master bedroom) and curls up on his dog bed.

TEZI PUPS

TEZI's PUPS
[
These cuties are 2 out of 5 pups that were rescued in April with thier mom, Tezi - out of a trashpile.... Read their rescue story here.]

"We are LOVING Owen & Nia. Besides Owen throwing up all over the car and on Nia, on the way home (I'm sure car ride and nervousness made him sick) all is great! They are both sweet hearts and well mannered dogs......just playful pups!

They are loving their chew bones and fetching balls (Nia is especially smart) and Owen is constantly looking for hugs and kisses. Nia will test you and believes she "owns" the outdoor furniture for HER comfort but great at getting down once she hears "No". It took only a day 1/2 for the dogs to get acquainted w/ their new brother and now that they know who "rules the roost" (Max- our miniature Dachsund) all is good and Max is eager and cries every morning until he gets to see his new siblings.

We can't say enough how happy we are w/ these wonderful dogs! Thanks for saving them and giving them a new lease on life. You guys make a huge difference and are much appreciated for all you do for Los Cabos. Now we ALL have more love to go around!!
Blessings!"
The Houpt Family

CARLOS

CABO CARLOSCARLOS was found wandering the streets and begging for food at the San Jose City Club Parking lot.... After his quarentine period at the LCHS Center, he went to a foster home for 6 months, where he captured the hearts of his foster people.

After the sudden and unexpected passing of one of their other dogs - they had an opening in the family for another permanent resident - so Carlos is the newest member of their canine and feline clan!

To those of you who can provide foster homes to our shelter dogs, please let us know - it is a wonderful way for them to socialize, potty train and get ready for their forever homes - without having to live in a 3X5 pen day in and day out waiting for happiness....

Of course - when they are charming enough, they get to stay forever!

Cabo Lina

LINA & BLANCA

LINA (right) and BLANCA (left) off to thier new homes in Canada.... We are so grateful that they have been adopted... Both are extremely sweet and deserving dogs.

Just wanted to send some pictures and tell you how (Marra) Bella is going.
Its been one year since i brought her home to Canada. She loves playing in the woods chasing squirrels and birds of leash and always coming back when called, she even swims in the cold lakes to chase the ducks or anything that moves. She is full of energy and can run all day. She goes out 4 times a week on a dog hike with six other dog friends. Sometimes high up into the snow where she jumps around in the powder having a blast. When it gets bellow -5c bella has a little camouflaged water proof one piece suit which she rolls over and lets me put on so easily! then she stays toasty warm.
She is such a loving little loyal dog and has changed my life. I never thought i could love a dog so much. I can't imagine my life without little Bella now :)

SORIANA CABOTOPAZ (was Soriana at LCHS)

At our 2012 annual Paws & Claws Golf Fundraiser this year TOPAZ was adopted by the son of long-time volunteer Ginny Bola.

She was found at Soriana Plaza 2 months earlier, skinny and scared. She is so lucky to have the fortune of a loving home in Santa Fe with her new forever best friend.

Here she is looking fat and happy to be 'shotgun' riding along in the car....

LOLA

CABO LOLA"I have had many names, but my adopted name is Lola and my pet parents Becky and Jordan found me waiting with my sister after our Mom and other 5 brothers and sisters were already adopted. We were born in a foster home after my Mom was found limping and heavily pregnant on the street. I had alot of fun with my Mom and brothers and sisters growing and learning for 8 weeks until I was big enough to be spayed and go to my furever home.
My mom and dad say I am their Princess and I get to sleep in their bed all snuggled up with them every night, they take me almost everywhere they go and I am so happy.

Thank you Los Cabos Humane Society for giving me a chance to have a wonderful life xoxo Lola."

CABO MAX

DORI

CABO DORI

Dora (Dori) was adopted today by a wonderful local family. They have one son and a extended family who just loves her! Here are a few pictures for your website. Thanks to Noah’s Bark in Northern California ...

CABO Tequila

Hi, my name is Tequila and here is a picture of me with my new family. I spent the first part of my life homeless, but I always knew I was meant to live with a family in a house. So when these wonderful people from Los Cabos Humane Society rescued me and took such good care of me, I showed them what a sweet dog I am and I did everything I could to learn how to be a good dog. I loved all of my friends there, but I wanted to find my forever home. But for some reason nobody who came to adopt a dog realized what a good dog I am and I stayed there for many months.

Then a really nice woman from an organization called Noah’s Bark came and she understood how much I needed to find my forever home. She took me on an airplane and brought me to the U.S. and let me stay with her and her family. I loved my new family so much and I was so happy there and I made sure to be such a good dog. But they still weren’t my forever home since my foster mom has to help lots of other dogs find homes too. So she found me my very own family. I get to go on long walks with my mom every day, and I keep my dad company while he works and he plays with me all the time. They shower me with love and affection and I am always eager to return it. I even have other family members who I get to see often and they love me too. I am so full of love and happiness every day of my life, and I share it with everyone I meet.

TINA

Esta es tina ya tiene una año que la adoptamos y estamos muy contentos con ella. Nos gustaria adoptar otro pero como que es un poco celosa. Estas son unas cuantas fotos , mi novia se enamoro de ella y nos la llevamos a casa. Saludos - Rodolfo y Martha

CABO TINA

Rodolfo and Martha adopted Tina from the Center in 2011. Tina was a very nervous and skinny recent mother when she arrived at the shelter. The photo on the end shows how she was when she arrived. Now she is healthy and beautiful in her forever home. Rodolfo and Martha love her. Thanks to you both for giving Tina a wonderful home!

Rescue Kitty

VINNE

This is Vinnie as a sickly baby kitten when he was rescued out of the trash on the street. The pic on the right is Vinne now -
an amazing transformation as a result of love and care. he is beautiful happy and healthy!

TONKS

Tonks

All of these beautiful cats are from the Los Cabos Humane Society shelter! Adopted one year apart by Christine Wood, they are totally bonded. Angelo is "Tonkinese" and very funloving and friendly.  Micky is a cream tabby and sucks his tail when he is happy and secure.Tonkinese"(Siamese+Burmese).

Christine writes: "Please use my attached email to help the "Tonkinese" kitties [at the LCHS Center] find new homes.

At first,  I was a little hesitant to get a "Siamese" but watched an animal planet on "Tonks" and realize my Angelo is actually one and this is why he is so friendly and fun-loving!  Also -- Here are some pics of my "adopted" hijos -- before and after!  They BOTH  love to sleep with me...and cuddle.  But, it's hard to take that as a picture ;-)

Like I found out...Tonkinese are GREAT pets for families and are primarily healthy, happy, and fun-loving.  Mine adopted ME while at the shelter.  My cream tabby (Mickey) sucks his tale when he is happy and secure...and loves to play with his "brother" and anything I throw at him.

GUERRITA

Hi, I adopted Guerita in Febuary while I was living in Cabo. I was so happy to bring her back with me in Canada, Quebec. She is now 1 year old, and she has so much love from so many people!! Guerita is a great dog, with a lot of energy and a great personnality ! :) Guerrita

Thank you LCHS, Katherine

Randall

RANDALL

Dear Aida and Everyone at the Shelter:
Just wanted to say thank you for sending me to America last June. I was adopted by a wonderful family and I am sooo happy to be  living in Southern California!
I have canine sibs that I love and romp with.
Here is my mom "Yo*( who I sleep and cuddle with every night,) and me. Muchos Gracias otra ves.
Love,  Randall

LUCAS

We adopted Lucas (was Rex at LCHS) from NorCal Golden Retriever Rescue at the end of September.

My daughter and I met him as he came off the plane from Cabo and we instantly fell in love. When he came home with us he was already a great dog! He was very sweet and wonderfully housebroken! In this short time he has become everything we could ever ask for in a dog!

It didn't take long for him to become the center of our family. I've never met such a well-mannered dog who is happy to do whatever is asked of him. We just couldn't imagine life without him!

Thank you so much for saving him! Emily, Scott and Haley

(....cont.) This is a picture EVERYONE must see.  Do you see the golden retriever on the pew? (right) This was one your dogs (Rex) renamed Lucas...  He's was the ringbearer at his owners recent wedding!  Yes he has on a tux! It doesn't get any more precious than that!

Lucas

CABO & DITTO

Here are 2 shelter kitties from Cabo living the high life in Connecticut. The larger one, Cabo, was transported by Tom and Claire to Ct 3 years ago. Their son Randy fell in love with him and he never made to the no-kill shelter where he was intended to live.

SCHATZIE (formerly Natasha)

We adopted Schatzie in late 2010, and she has been an amazing addition to our household. We first saw Schatzie just a couple of days after arriving at the LCHS, and she was one very scared, very skittish little Schnauzer. It took her several minutes to even approach the front of her cage so we could touch her. We fell in love with her instantly and began fostering her the next day...two weeks later, we formally adopted her and she is an irreplaceable member of our family now.

Schatzie loves her toys (especially her monkey) and is very energetic and loving. Schatzie had a chance to visit the U.S. and experience snow...which she loved almost as much as the beach here in Cabo. Thank You LCHS for all the work you do, and for giving us such a precious gift.

EVA

When we first met Eva we all weren't sure we were ready to take on another dog as the fear of losing another (as we did with Coco not long before) was very much raw.

We brought her into our home and after several months of connecting and bonding we are truly happy to have her part of our family.
Every day she makes us laugh by the way she drops to the floor for a belly rub - we can sometimes catch her smiling. She runs towards our son at full speed ahead and at the last possible second she darts to the side and misses crashing into him.
We sometimes call her princesa for the way she will only eat her food if I put a little natural yogurt on top!

Welcome to our life Eva!"

BECKY

Becky at her forever home in California.
It is so wonderful to know she has a forever home!!

Thank you, the shelter folks and Marcie for taking care of her.

DEACON

To all of you who have helped Deacon along the way, I want to give you a heart felt THANK YOU! I have been remiss not contacting you earlier to up date you on the well being of Deacon.

You probably know Deacon by the name of Dali which was his name [at LCHS]. I was in the U.S. when Kathy Sherry sent me an email and told me that you had a Doberman by the name of Dali. I went on line and looked at the pictures of him and he looked like a fine animal.

I told Kathy that if she could find some one to care for him until I returned that I would take him. Steve Wendt took him for a while and Kathy as well while we were settling our house. There are many others that I should thank that I do not know their names.

You all may know another doberman by the name of Deacon, which Hope and other people at the shelter lovingly cared for 2 summers ago. He was a beautiful red dobie that had a multitude of problems. I had the privilege of having him as a friend for some time and actually got to see him smile one day when we were out walking. He just smiled and started to run.

It was unfortunate that he had so many problems and had to cross over but thanks to all of you who volunteer, his last months were probably some of the very best of his life. My wife & I were greatly sadden with his passing & have therefore decided to name this Doberman, Deacon too.

This is why Dali is now Deacon, in honor of a lost friend. I must tell you that he is living up to the legacy and just gets better every day.
I have included two pictures of him, one by himself and one with another dog (came to us from 'Dog Day Afternoon about 2 yrs. ago) which we fostered for a while and is now with our friends in a wonderful home.

When Deacon came to us he still had difficulty with his back legs which I have to tell you that whatever problems he had, someone forgot to tell Deacon. He improves every day and has a great personality. He is still about 80% puppy and does not know any meanness.

Kathy told me when I got him that he may not be able to run, once again no one told him. We walk twice every day for a mile or two and he has gained a great deal of strength and runs like the wind. It is one of my greatest pleasures to wake up in the morning to hear him dropping a golf ball by the side of my bed. His excitement for life, running and playing ball always puts a smile on my face every morining. What a way to start a day!
We will bring him by the shelter in the next few weeks to reconnect with you all.
In the meantime --- thanks again to all of you for the work that you do ---
it makes a difference in all of our lives.

Best Regards, Paul & Linda

REBECCA

Rebecca spent over a year at the LCHS Center... She now has a happy home in the U.S.

Dear Aida,Ev,Cecelia, and Everyone at the Shelter:

I hope you're not worrying about me. I have bounced back, good as new, lovin' life in America!! This green grass is awesome stuff. I love to roll on it! I love to fetch tennis balls! I am making lots of new friends.

Thanks for sending me. Love REBECA

ROXY

Roxy was a street dog who came in to the LCHS banged up and tick and flea infested. After getting a flea/tick bath, vaccinations and distemper tests, she joined the rest of the LCHS community.

In the meantime Celina, a shelter volunteer, had posted a picture of shelter dogs, including Roxxy, on her Facebook page. One of her friends from Kelowna saw Roxxy's picture and fell in love.

Celina's friends expressed an interest in adopting Roxxy. So Celina and Mirek took her into foster care to give her some TLC and doggie training. When an opportunity arrived for her to be escorted on her flight to her new home in Kelowna, Roxxy said 'adios' to Mexico and flew to join her new family in Canada. They love her very much - and she loves them!

DIEGO

YEP! - This is our 'Wild Diego', who went to Nor Cal Golden Rescue and was adopted by this gentleman. We remember Diego as one of the most 'energetic' and strong-minded Goldens that has ever passed our way at LCHS. He is a strikingly beautiful Golden Retriever and we are SOOOO happy that he has a forever home!

Here he is pictured with his new Dad after having graduated from obedience school... He looks like such a well behaved young man now! We are so happy for them!

Thank you Nor Cal Golden Rescue.

ALMENDRA

Just thought we would give you a little update on Almendra.

She has been spayed as well as micro chipped and is adjusting well to the cold winters of Pennsylvania. She has really grown into a beautiful puppy.

She weighs about 15 pounds and the vet thinks that she is just about full grown. She is very spoiled and has become the princess of the Lavdar casa. She gets along very well with our two cats and as you can see from the photos our older dog (Dog pronounced DEE O GEE) tolerates her.

The boys love her! We have made her into a real international dog. Dog was trained by our Swedish exchange daughter using swedish commands.

It just made sense that Almendra would follow the same commands so ....our little Cabo mix (who still barks in Spanish I might add), lives in the states, and is trained using Swedish words :-) WE LOVE OUR LITTLE MULTI-LINGUAL PUP! Hope all is well with you, our Cascadas family, and of course all of the great people at LCHS.

Happy New Year! - John and Colleen

MAYA

Thought you may like to see how big Maya is getting!! She's the one on the right and at a year old, bigger that Kiki. She's a beautiful cat and sooooo soft. Of course, both of them have very blue eyes, but look yellow in this picture.

She's a naughty little thing....always looking for some mischief, and keeps us on out toes, but we love her so much. I'm sure someday, she'll settle down and quit looking for "trouble". You'd think she may be bored, but she has oodles of toys, not to mention, Kiki!!
